Exhibition design for the West Kerry Museum

The West Kerry Museum or Músaem Chorca Dhuibhne, showcases the rich natural and cultural heritage of the Dingle Peninsula. Its artifact’s range from prehistoric times to the present day.

We worked closely with the museum to develop interpretation that complements the outstanding artifacts, ogham stones, standing stones, early christian crosses, a famine pot and even cannon balls. We commissioned aerial photography and illustration that give context to the historical narratives.

We designed a typeface, Chorca Dhuibhne, for the interpretation headings, signage, publications and for use in the new identity. Named after the local area, the typeface’s letterforms are informed by stone carving and the cló gaelach typeface common in historical Irish typography.
