Branding for Arts and Disability Ireland

Branding for Ireland’s leading arts & disability organisation.

ADI champion the creativity of artists with disabilities and promote inclusive experiences for all. They provide a range of services to assist and encourage arts venues to adopt an inclusive approach to audience development.

They approached us to build a brand that would place accessibility at its core without constraining aesthetics.

We collaborated closely with ADI, giving careful consideration to typography, hierarchy, grid systems, printing and use of colour. We delivered a brand that was simple, impactful and accessible.

The goal for the ADI website was to implement the brand on a website that would be perceivable, operable, understandable and robust. We did this by working closely with ADI and a selection of their end users. This included UX workshops with people with various disabilities. An agile approach to development allowed us to iterate the website until it was fit for purpose.

Through our work with ADI we have developed the belief that accessibility should be adopted by Irelands’ graphic design industry as an essential criterion in practice. One in ten people in Ireland have some form of disability. Put simply, accessible design improves people’s quality of life.
